Who we are and what we do.
The Viking branch of Clan Gunn is dedicated to promoting our clan, as well as all Scottish clans by entertaining & educating all of those who cross our path! We are proud of our Scottish/Norse heritage and are not afraid to show it! Our passion for where we come from is what drives us to do the things we do to get others excited about their own lineage.
First & foremost, we are Clan Gunn, a clan from Caithness, in the northeast corner of Scotland. Born of Vikings, with the Highland spirit, we are a warrior clan. Our motto is “Aut Pax Aut Bellum” which is Latin meaning “Either Peace Or War”! Everything we are is a part of that heritage. How we do it, however; is all for the purpose of getting people, especially the young ones, to re-discover where they came from & have fun with it! Clan Gunn Vikings use a hands on approach to enlighten & entertain those who stop by our tent. Kids and their parents can hold & wield swords & axes, all while learning their origin & place in history. We talk about the history of Gunn, as well as the rich and colorful history of all Scotland. On occasion, we have our axe throwing area available for those who want to learn how to hit a target with a real axe! We love to see the excitement on the face of a person when they bury an axe in the target for the first time! Membership & interest in the clans has been on the decline for some time now. Young people especially, have lost interest. You don’t have to be a genius to see where that will lead us. We Gunns have dedicated our lives to keeping that from happening. We might not always be traditional, we might break a few rules along the way, but we will have lots of fun welcoming all of you to our world!
See You Soon,
